- Why should I use Continental Gold & Estate Buyers?
- The answer is simple: our customers come first. As a family owned and operated business, we value each and every customer. To ensure 100% satisfaction, we treat our customers with the respect they deserve, deliver prompt service, and educating each customer on the true value of their goods.
With over three generations of experience in the industry, Continental Gold & Estate Buyers have built a team of friendly, knowledgeable customer service representatives, as well as a team of the most skilled appraisers and certified experts to ensure you get the most money for your merchandise. Additionally, our on-site resources eliminate the middleman, and are able to offer you the most cash now for your goods. - Is it safe to send my precious jewelry and materials through the mail?
- Yes. Continental Gold & Estate Buyers insures each package through the US postal system. Also, we code, monitor and track each SecurePak every step of the way. Each package includes a secure bar code which customers can use to track their items throughout the shipping process. Prior to, during, and after each shipment from one destination to another, each package is weighed to ensure security.
- How do I know I will get the best prices for my goods?
- For the past 30 years, Continental Gold & Estate Buyers has developed relationships with top gold, diamond and jewelry buyers. We've put a great deal of effort into determining the top selling prices for each and every item that is sent to our headquarters. Don't believe us? Shop around! We recommend you obtain other offers from local businesses. They should tell you what they would pay to buy your items, not what they would pay you to leave on consignment.
- Can you give me an exact price before seeing an item?
- Unfortunately, Continental Gold & Estate Buyers cannot determine the exact price without receiving an item. There are many variables that affect values, and our experts must inspect each item prior to quoting an offer to make accurate determinations of value.
- Will Continental Gold and Estate Buyers purchase my sliver plated items?
- No. Silver plated items have very little value and we strongly discourage customers sending in these items. We will gladly evaluate and purchase solid sliver items, but customers are responsible for return shipping costs if silver plated items are sent to Continental Gold and Estate Buyers.
- Do you remove stones to appraise and price items?
- No. Our state-of-the-art equipment allows us to inspect items without disturbing stones. In some rare cases, a stone may be set in way that makes determining a price impossible. In such cases, a Continental Gold & Estate Buyer will contact you to request your permission to remove the stone.
- Do you provide written appraisals?
- We make our offers (not appraisals) during telephone calls between our experts and the customer. This is different from an appraisal. An appraisal might tell you how much it would cost to replace your item with a new one; an offer is how much we can pay right now for your item.
- Are my items safe and insured while in Continental Gold & Estate Buyers' possession?
- Yes. All shipments are tracked. Once they reach our headquarters, Items are stored safely in appropriate vaults in all departments. Video and central alarms ensure your items remain within this environment until we complete the purchase.
- Will my transaction be reported to the Internal Revenue Service?
- No. Continental Gold & Estate Buyers has no responsibility to report purchases, or parties from whom we purchase, to the IRS.
- Do I speak directly with your appraisers about my item(s)?
- Yes. The appraiser assigned to your item(s) will discuss with you our findings and payment offers. He or she will share opinions and options, while leaving you with the final decision of whether or not you would like to sell. If you choose not to sell, we will return your item(s), and we will insure the shipment back to you for twice the amount of the highest offer we make for the item(s).
- What about selling to a pawnshop or a local jeweler?
- We believe selling to Continental Gold & Estate Buyers offers the highest, most competitive prices and best overall experience in the precious metals industry. While we have buyers worldwide, a local pawnshop or jewelry store is limited to a relatively small pool of local customers. For this reason, they have to resell many items to a company such as ours. So by coming straight to us, you eliminate the middleman, get great customer service and enjoy a hassle-free experience - from the comfort of your own home!
- Could a stolen item of mine have been sold to Continental Gold and Estate Buyers?
- It is very unlikely. Continental Gold & Estate Buyers renders payment not with cash, but rather with a company check or direct deposit, which creates a paper trail and record that a thief wants to avoid at all costs. Usually, stolen merchandise is sold locally by way of some type of cash transaction.
